Free to use

My Bookshelf is free to use. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or hidden fees. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but any existing functionality will remain free.

Your data is yours

All book and shelf data you create belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of any content you add to the application. You can export your data at any time in a standard format (Excel .xlsx). You can delete your data at any time by clearing your browser's IndexedDB storage for this site.

Provided as-is

My Bookshelf is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will always be available, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use it at your own discretion.

No liability for data loss

Because your data is stored in your browser's local storage, it can be lost if you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or use private/incognito mode. We strongly recommend using the export feature regularly as a backup. We are not liable for any loss of data.

Acceptable use

Please use My Bookshelf for its intended purpose: managing your personal physical book collection. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or exploit the application or its supporting APIs.

Third-party services

The app connects to third-party book data services (NeoDB, ISBN.work) for ISBN lookups and cover images, and uses Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. Your use of the app implies acceptance of those services' terms where applicable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
